Organic migratory beekeeper Johannes Gruber brings his bees to this almost mystical location on the edge of the forest, near the border river Lafnitz, every spring and late autumn. At this point, the Lafnitz flows through a nature reserve between Eastern Styria and Burgenland.

In spring, bees find plenty of food here, as the floodplain forests and meadows are excellent habitats for bees thanks to their biodiversity. Wild willows, powder trees, bird cherries, dogwoods, hawthorn, and countless other herbs bloom here.

Even in late autumn, bees can benefit from the unique food supply due to the mild climate in this region.
